Tear stained pages of a bible seldom opened
Desperate melodies that allude to foreign concepts…
Forgiveness, surrender, mourning
One-ended conversations that never end
Searching for a way to discern significance
In search of a simple solution that doesn’t exist
Memories of a time when personal identity was worthy
Ideas and insight valued and sought after
Reality of dismissal and “love” bound by contingencies and ultimatums
Unspoken shame and self-doubt
Debilitating loss overwhelms mind, body, and soul
